The biggest challenge of ActivityPub is that it's too technical to easily explain to regular people. Nobody is interested in a jargon-laden diatribe about servers and federation. @eapl.me I couldn't care less about ActivityPub, but twtxt is the thing for hackers by design. That's the appealing part for me, personally. I actually do enjoy that not everybody and their dogs are here. :-)
